Journey to ▶️Cock Studio

CS dressing room: I was getting ready when I got asked about my journey from season 9 to season 10. I looked up to respond, and literally saw the answer staring back at me in the mirror. Coincidentally, I was sitting at a dressing table that was directly in front of a picture of me from Afreen (season 9) - the mirror reflected season 9 & 10 side by side.

Though it's just been a year, it feels like eternity because boy has it been a crazy ride! When I look at the Momina from season 9, I see a girl who knew herself and was confident - yet scared. A girl who had talent but didn't want to be out there for the world's unnecessary criticism. She had always been so protected. When I look at the present Momina, I see a girl who is furthest from scared - a girl who is ready to take the world head on. Because that one year taught her so so much. You name it and I experienced it - both personally and professionally. Becoming an overnight sensation with Afreen going viral, it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies. With it came a lot of hate speech, cyberbullying, harassment, baseless assumptions, and unnecessary judgements. People who didn't wish we well and only wanted to walk over me, and others who were only looking for the slightest opportunity to bring me down - at no fault of my own. I saw the world with a completely different angle suddenly because I become a public figure (read: non-human apparently). I went through a lot on a personal and professional level, but I'm so glad that I did. I think it made me grow and recognize/appreciate even more the things that actually matter in life. The people who stood by me through thick and thin, and the people who bailed out on me at their convenience. I learned to be more responsible with my actions and words, because as an influencer they have a bigger impact than one can foresee.

Here's to the year that taught me so very much! One of my songs this season is about this. Whatever life throws your way, embrace it and find something good in it. Turn every moment of weakness into your strength. Know that the bad times don't last forever, but neither do the good times.
Thank you Coke Studio for an experience of a life time!
